We see our role not as separate from the Nation's institutions, but as one expression of them — an economic actor that answers to the same responsibilities toward land and community as any other part of Cree governance.

The Land
Eeyou Istchee
Eeyou Istchee is Cree traditional territory, stretching across the eastern shores of James Bay and deep into the boreal interior of northern Quebec. It is not simply a place we operate — it is the place we come from.
Every community we serve carries its own history, its own relationship to the land and water, and its own way of adapting to a territory that demands respect. Eastmain Energy exists to move through that territory the way it deserves to be moved through: carefully, reliably, and with an understanding that fuel and energy are, ultimately, in service of people.
